Classic Stair and Guard Rail

The Spears (yes that Spears) residence in Malibu. In these hand wrought French style railings we used hand forged Icanthis leaves to add a bit of unique flourish, they were then embellished with gold leaf to add a stunning contrast to the dark bronze finish on the iron, the top rail ( can't be seen here as it was covered in paper for protection) was a polished bronze decorative cap purchased from the Julius Bloom catalogue.

These two above photos are of a design design which we have dubbed "Leafy Vine" designed by Juan Carlos Vargas of Artistic Metal Creations ( a company we frequently collaborate with on the west coast) from a nature photo provided by the Bel-Air client and interpretted beautifully into hand wrought iron with out the loss of fluidity. We topped it off with a Vert-Green faux finish all paints provided by Modern Masters. The grab/top rail was fabricated of oak and clear finished.

The project above a done in a "Contemporary Spanish" style and continuous, meaning an uninterupted flow that is not broken up by vertical posts, the scrolling which consists of 1/4", 1/2" and 5/8" round bar stock was installed with a powder coated finish and embellished with antique gold florettes.

This Mulholand Park "Art Noveau" railing was hand drawn full size and although very balanced has no repeated segments throughout the entire railing. The newel post at the bottom of the stairs was quite a challenge as it bows out in the center which we call "Basketed" with a cast center pilaster. The railing was finished with an antiqued nickel silver patina.

Another French style railing project in La Canada at the Zweveld residence, hand wrought of flat and square bar stock was designed in house. The finish was an antique faux.

Commercial / Industrial: Gates, Fences, Railings & Signs.

A detail shot of the aluminum signage we fabricated and installed on each side of the massive gates.

Long shot of the gates and adjacent fencing we engineered, fabricated and installed, the gate is a double swing type opf gate and is 11' tall at it's highest point and spans a 21' opening with each leaf weighing in at approximately 1800lbs. Notice that the hinges are not visible, we used Dorene heavy duty swing gate operators to cope with the enormous weights involved. Thery are manufactured here in the U.S. and for conventional operators are the most durable and service free motors.

Partial view of the 10'-6" high fence that secures the tarmac at the Million Air portion of the San Bernadino Airport. The fence was constructed of 1" x 3" x 1/4" vertical uprights that were angle cut at the top then capped and finish ground, with a 3/4" solid rod running through each vertical member, the bottom rail being a 2"x 4" x 1/4" steel tube. We finished the assembled sections with a zinc aluminum alloy coating done by Zinc Nation and then primed and finish coated with 2 coats of enamel, great insurance against rust for sure.

Curved and Etched glass signage on the tarmac side of the FBO building, this sign spans approxixatemately 70' and is 5' high, underneath of the glass was installed high power LED lighting so the etched logo picks up the light and has a green glow in the evening, a stunning effect.........

Exterior stainless steel and glass railings curved to a 120' radius the top rail is seamless, glass is 1/2" thick tempered, the clips that hold in the glass were purchased from CR Laurence. The sign in the background was painted on one of the hangers that was built to accomodate a 747.

Take a look at this detail photo of the FBO interior balcony and stair railing, this system was designed by Christian Lewis specifically for shipping and easy installation. Notice there are no plates at the bottom of the posts to hide connections, posts are sleeved onto an adjustable pin that works for both level and biased applications.

Strict attention to detail and quality control ensures that your project will be pleasing to the eye as well as durable.

Design, manufactured and installed by Republic Fence Co., Inc.
