Classic Stair and Guard Rail

These two above photos are of a design design which we have dubbed "Leafy Vine" designed by Juan Carlos Vargas of Artistic Metal Creations ( a company we frequently collaborate with on the west coast) from a nature photo provided by the Bel-Air client and interpretted beautifully into hand wrought iron with out the loss of fluidity. We topped it off with a Vert-Green faux finish all paints provided by Modern Masters. The grab/top rail was fabricated of oak and clear finished.

The project above a done in a "Contemporary Spanish" style and continuous, meaning an uninterupted flow that is not broken up by vertical posts, the scrolling which consists of 1/4", 1/2" and 5/8" round bar stock was installed with a powder coated finish and embellished with antique gold florettes.
This Mulholand Park "Art Noveau" railing was hand drawn full size and although very balanced has no repeated segments throughout the entire railing. The newel post at the bottom of the stairs was quite a challenge as it bows out in the center which we call "Basketed" with a cast center pilaster. The railing was finished with an antiqued nickel silver patina.

Another French style railing project in La Canada at the Zweveld residence, hand wrought of flat and square bar stock was designed in house. The finish was an antique faux.
