Beverly Park Residential

A grand entrance certainly beffiting any dignitary guest that may be entertained. This recently completed Beverly Park project was designed by the well known designer Frank Pennino and builders Winters-Schram and Assocites for an unnamed hedge fund practitioner and was to built impress.
This railing was done in a"Contemporary French" style and took on a life of it's own and developed as the interior took shape.

The designer wanted old school type construction so there were no welds on the entire run of railing was assembled with screws over 3000 drill and taps.

The newel posts I designed for Frank are quite unique as they spiral inwards, maintaining a 36" hieght from the floor to the steps giving them a sweeping feeling.

A custom built spiral stair that went up to a loft/playroom from a childs room, the color was matched to Batman's costume and was custom mixed and applied by my favorite powder coater WAAG of Van Nuys CA. We applied 3 coats on the treads for durability.

These stairs were less embellished in order to focus on the main entry stairs.

The hand wrought entry gates.

Some hand wrought exterior stairs again with the signature inward spiral at the newel.

Chimney straps that served two purposes, decorative as well as structural engineered to hold up the massively heavy stone chimneys, we did three of them, they actually spanned a 14' length and weighed over 300 lbs each, the center horizontal member was 1- 1/2" square solid iron and twisted.

A functional balconette attached to the master bedroom.

Exterior hand wrought balcony railing.

Exterior railings to the the tennis court.

42" high guard rail atop a 25' high retaining wall, typical in Bevery Hills.
Lastly a to code pool enclosure with self closing entry gates.

Stainless Steel ,Spiral Staircase

This is a polished stainless steel spiral stair installed in Beverly Hills, it leads into an underground parking structure that holds up to a hundred vehicles. The cost of a stair case like this runs just below $ 300,000.00. All components excepting the stringers are pre polished then touched up in the field, much of this particular stair was field assembled as access of course becomes an issue for something this immense.

Christian Lewis: Wrought Iron

Some candid shop photos of a couple projects done in hand wrought iron. The process has not changed much from the days of blacksmithing, the iron is heated to about 1100 degrees and hammered, twisted or bent into the desired shape. These projects are incredibly time consuming and become quite expensive. Hope you enjoy and thanks for your visit to MetalGraphic.

Christian Lewis: Robert F. Kennedy Inspiration Park

Here are a couple finished photos of the signage and final touch of the Robert F. Kennedy Inspiration Park that was completed in collaboration with Nite-Lite Signs. The letters are 12" high, 3/4" thick, brushed and clear coated, structural grade aluminum. They were installed onto galvanized ferrous metal brackets that were welded individually onto to a 6" o.d. horizontal carrier. We shop assembled the entire lay-out to maintain a single plane, jigged them up and field welded the letters onto the horizontal pipe.

Christian Lewis: Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools

Posing in front of the Etched Bronze Doors, that were seen on Channels 4,7 and 11 in stories regarding the over Half a Billion dollar price tag for construction of this amazing school.

The interior of the famous Cocoanut Grove Night Club, above is 3 of 6 removable Decorative Window Grilles, these grills were custom cast in aluminum (to reduce weight). Sculpting for the patterns were cut in house and then turned over to Palmquist Tooling for a full size mold.
I engineered them to be easily removed and re-assembled

At the final inspection of the installation of the "Ripple Wall" as it was dubbed by the architects.

This installation at the Robert F. Kennedy Inspiration Park is constructed of water jet cut cut #304 stainless steel, memorializing the words of the late Robert F. Kennedy. These type of stainless steel materials have a life up to 800 years and that's immersed in salt water!!!!

In the foreground is some of our custom stainless steel handrail, in the background is a steel wall with a gate that was built adjacent to a pinnacle that is one of the only remaining original structures left on the site.

Glad to have you as always and thanks for your support,

Christian Lewis Productions: Old World

Here are a couple photos of some "Old World" style stair railings. These railings were done in collaboration with West Coast artist Juan Carlos Vargas who is a 2nd generation metal designer/fabricator. Both these stair railings have an exquisite combination of custom cast and hand wrought balusters with a hand rubbed antique bronze finish, they are the first thing that one sees when entering the home. We take great care and pride with our design and workmanship to enhance the architecture and personality in order to truly create a Grand Entrance.

Christian Lewis Productions: Hollywood Hills Modern

Here are some pictures of a project that I engineered and designed for Forthill Construction with Brain Woolf of Republic Fence Co., Inc., where I currently act as Designer/Engineer and Marketing Director. Republic has a history dating back to 1951 and is all about great service and high-end completions. If it's high quality fences, gates and railings you prefer, this is the place to go. I will personally handle your projects for you, my office number there is 818-341-5323.

The architectural railings here went at a modern style house nestled in the Hollywood Hills just above Sunset Blvd. We took great pains on this one in regards to waterproofing, the method of attachment required the coring of the concrete after which we inserted copper sleeves utilizing epoxy. The posts of the railings were then epoxied in and waterproofed over. The railing finish was galvanized, primed and finish coated. Also we manufactured all the stainless steel racks and utensils on the oven.
